- I think not. Look at what the US have contibuted in the way
- of crackers -- The Triscuit: a woven square made from wheat
- oil and salt, a true wonder of modern engineering; The Wheat
- Thin: no other cracker packs in the MIPS[1] like this thing,
- makes a pentium seem as powerful as a hunk of fused silicon;
- and of course the humble Goldfish Cracker: the sheer
- quantities in which they are used is what has made CAD/CAM[2]
- possible today in ways it was never used before.

- the matzo to saltine upgrade was clever but that was a long
- time ago; the Cracked Pepper Water Cracker is indeed
- impressive but its applications have been so limited that it
- can hardly count as a major development.
